Later That Night...

at "The Cap."

I'll bring you precious contraband
And ancient tales from distant lands
Of conquerors and concubines
And Conjurers from darker times
Betrayal and conspiracy
Sacrilege and heresy
Steve Earle
(crank it up!)

My wife Stephanie and I ran the Capitol Bar for most of the 90's. It was quite a experience. Both good... and sometimes, not so good. However, I've now become part of this town and community in more profoundly deeper and meaningful ways then I could have ever reached otherwise.

Although we've both have moved on in our careers, "The Cap" will always remain a huge part of our lives, history and memories.

Incidentally, The Cap served as the Capitol of the Free State of Socorro during the brief secession of 1950.

It's been that kind of place for over a hundred years around here.

Happy Hour at The Cap

The Capitol Bar

A hundred years ago the local cowboys were tying up their horses at the Cap. Well, they're still showing up with their horses... but now they're iron.

Happy trails.

Monsoon Season

Usually the monsoon season here in New Mexico doesn't start until July, but for the last couple of weeks moisture has been moving in every afternoon. It makes for some interesting afternoon skies as thunderstorms start to build.

It's all about the skies out here in New Mexico.
